Lexington Parks - Wolf Run/Cross Keys

Now that I'm documenting parks we've visited during this COVID year, we sometimes hit more than one in a day. Wolf Run and Cross Keys Parks are really close together (just across Alexandria from each other, near Versailles Road).

Wolf Run Park - There IS a playground here (that the boys enjoyed during our last park survey five years ago), but we didn't go to it this time. Many parks in Lexington have little creeks, and the boys loved stomping around this one. The big boys were trying to make a dam near that little opening.

Cooper brought along some of his dinosaurs. Usually, we leave toys in the van, but it actually worked well to play with the dinosaur along the bank...

...and on the muddy baseball field...

Bleachers have been another hit lately. They give our boys a chance to climb! I like the ones that don't have openings and big drop-offs under the seats. Those make me really nervous, especially with the little ones.

Cross Keys Park - This is one of the few parks that doesn't have the traditional LFUCG park sign. There isn't a playground, but there is a nice, paved walking trail along part of the pond. I remember going here once while Lucas and I were dating, and there were a lot of ducks then.

Carter prefers to push just Calvin because he can go a lot higher. The little boys enjoy the swing, too.

I wish I had a better picture of this. There's neat picnic area on a peninsula jutting out into the pond. We didn't linger long because it was chilly and because, well, the one-year-old was throwing a fit...

(Note: We have visited 30+ parks in Lexington since the beginning of Covid. These are not meant to be extensive reviews but more a record of our experiences. Eventually I will add hyperlinks to all the blog entries here)
