Lexington Parks - Southend

Southend Park (701 DeRoode St)
Location - off Oliver Lewis Way, near Versailles Road
Playground? no
Trails? no
Other? no

This is an undeveloped park, according to someone who works in planning and design for the LFUCG Parks department. I know this area has been reshaped with the addition of Oliver Lewis Way, so it may have been more of a park in the past. Actually, we saw part of the old park sign that had been re-purposed to block off a slide at Northeastern Park. We had a picnic here (to a lot of stares from people driving by), but we couldn't even play soccer in the field because it was that hard straw-like grass that kept stopping the ball before it reached its target.

Our failed game of soccer

This was at Northeastern Park, where the Southend Park sign was re-purposed. I was proud of my sleuthing and park knowledge to figure it out!

(Note: We visited all 88 LFUCG parks in the span of a Covid year -- mid-March 2020 to February 2021. These are not meant to be extensive reviews but more a record of our experiences. Eventually I will add hyperlinks to all the blog entries here)
