Lexington Parks - Harrods Hill

Harrods Hill Park (3308 Ridgecane Road)
Location - in Harrods Hill/Beaumont neighborhood, connected to the Beaumont trail system
Playground? yes
Trails? yes (paved). There is a small loop within the park, but it also connects to the Beaumont trail system and also goes over to the Beaumont Y.
Other? soccer fields, trees for climbing, basketball courts, tennis courts, shelter

We frequent this park not because it's the closest to our house but because of how often we're in the vicinity when we stop by the Beaumont branch of the library to pick up our latest batch of holds. It's crazy, though, I still get turned around and often forget which road to take to get there. We've walked the trails, climbed the trees, played soccer in the field, eaten picnics, and more recently, played on the playground!

Cooper wanted to climb, too!

This isn't technically in Harrods Hill park anymore, but we followed a trail from there that led behind the Beaumont Y. We kept walking and found the Beaumont trail that led back to the park to make a big loop.

A couple times, we have played soccer in the fields (although the goals are so far apart for little legs!). It's me vs. the big boys while the little boys run around. My advantage is that I'm bigger and have more soccer experience. My disadvantage is that once they get it past me, my only hope is if they miss the big goal.

I believe this was right before he stepped too close and got all muddy and our soccer game was promptly canceled.

They were so happy when the playground was empty one day for us to play!

Sometimes he gets a little twisted on the curly slide

Brother train!

He found a stick!

Some low branches for everyone

And some high branches for the daring!

(Note: We visited all 88 LFUCG parks in the span of a Covid year -- mid-March 2020 to February 2021. These are not meant to be extensive reviews but more a record of our experiences. Eventually I will add hyperlinks to all the blog entries here)
