Lexington Parks - Kenawood

Kenawood Park (612 Bryanwood Parkway)
Location - Between N Broadway and Winchester, near Dixie Park and Eastland Park
Playground? yes
Trails? yes, paved
Other? baseball fields, basketball court

I'm not as familiar with this side of town, but we hit up three parks that were very close to each other, and we felt safe at all of them. There was a loose dog from the neighborhood running and barking, and a Parks staff said that the dog gets loose often. It stayed away, though. The boys really liked the playground. There were some unique features not at any other playground in town.

I loved how this little playset had purposeful "extras" like holes and ball tracks and musical elements.

The little boys love seeing letters!

Here was the little ball track. We looked all over the park for a ball that would work on this ramp, to no avail (but now we keep some in the van for when we go back). We tested rocks and lids, but they just didn't work right.

Here's a little tunnel that you can drop something small into, and then it goes down the ramp and comes out on the other side. We were able to use small pebbles and sticks for this.

There's Colson dropping something into the tunnel.

We'll be back, Kenawood!

(Note: We visited all 88 LFUCG parks in the span of a Covid year -- mid-March 2020 to February 2021. These are not meant to be extensive reviews but more a record of our experiences. Eventually I will add hyperlinks to all the blog entries here)
