Lexington Parks - Deer Haven

Deer Haven Park (1937 Deer Haven Lane)
Location - in Hamburg, connects to Brighton East Rail Trail, which leads to Pleasant Ridge Park
Playground? no
Trails? yes (the paved rail trail)
Other? big rocks to climb on!

This was one of our go-to park destinations last summer. We'd often start at Pleasant Ridge Park, walk the rail trail (which is blessedly shaded in many places!), and romp around on the rocks at Deer Haven Park before returning to our van. Sometimes, we eat a picnic lunch here and sometimes back at Pleasant Ridge. Many of the trail pictures are included in my Pleasant Ridge post, even if that part of the trail is technically in Deer Haven. We tried looking all over for a park sign and even drove to two separate entrances, but alas. No sign to be seen. Still, this is our favorite paved trail in Lexington. Check it out!

Here are some of the rocks they love to climb on

Can't get everyone looking and smiling at the same time!

Brothers :-)

Snack time!

This is one of his favorite poses

Ta da!

Here's some of the farmland that is private property on the edge of the park

Carter also likes climbing on these posts

(Note: We visited all 88 LFUCG parks in the span of a Covid year -- mid-March 2020 to February 2021. These are not meant to be extensive reviews but more a record of our experiences. Eventually I will add hyperlinks to all the blog entries here)
