Lexington Parks - Pleasant Ridge

Pleasant Ridge Park (1350 Pleasant Ridge Dr)
Location - in Hamburg area, right inside Interstate 75 (the Brighton Rail Trail actually goes under the interstate)
Playground? yes
Trails? yes (paved) - the Brighton Rail Trail goes through Pleasant Ridge Park, past Polo Club Blvd, and on to Deer Haven Park

I say that I love this park, but really, I'm referring to the beautiful shaded rail trail that runs through this park. We came here several times over the summer, but most of the time, we walked the trail to Deer Haven and back with a picnic back at Pleasant Ridge. We need to go back to explore the actual park, especially now that we are playing on (empty) playgrounds.

This was one of our favorite finds. Carter was walking along the side and almost stepped on this turtle. It was fascinating to watch. It stayed put, though, and was even still there when we were on our way back.

He was so proud of his outfit that day...

I love the design from the shaded leaves

They like when Calvin pulls because he's fast!

They love this little fairy house right on the trail (from someone's backyard)

I wrote a blog post reflecting on the "straight, level path" here

Trying to follow his big brothers

Tangled up

Setting up our picnic after a long walk. Sometimes I let them run ahead to get the supplies out of the van.

(Note: We visited all 88 LFUCG parks in the span of a Covid year -- mid-March 2020 to February 2021. These are not meant to be extensive reviews but more a record of our experiences. Eventually I will add hyperlinks to all the blog entries here)
