Every year, we usually take a trip with Lucas' parents and brother's family. We used to do a lot of nearby state parks, but we had talked about the Mackinac area for years and finally made it happen post-Covid! Since Mamaw and Papaw still had their RV at that time, we found a campground that had both RV hookups and cabins. It was a beautiful campground, right on the shore of Lake Huron. The boys STILL talk about wanting to go back there! We had some lowkey days around the campground, and we did day trips to Canada and to Mackinac Island.
July 8 - drive to Mimi and Pa's house in Indiana
July 9 - drive the rest of the way to Macknaw Mill Creek campground
July 10 - hanging around the campground
July 11 - drive through the Upper Peninsula up into Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, Canada
July 12 - hang out in Mackinaw City and the campground
July 13 - take the ferry to Mackinac Island
July 14 - drive to Traverse City and climb Sleeping Bear Dunes
July 15 - spend 2 hours at Empire Beach, drive back to Indiana
July 16 - drive rest of the way home!
